Youth Sunday Morning classes are in recess until September 2010. Rite 13 Grades 7 and 8 Journey to Adulthood (J2A) Grades 9 and 10 J2A is the second phase of a process that begins with Rite 13. This is a two-year program that focuses on personal and spiritual growth. The goal is to help the young persons acquire skills and vocabulary which will prepare and empower them to participate in the adult Christian community. The mentors will lead the group in exploring what it means to be Christian and to be Episcopalian. Preparation for Confirmation is included in this curriculum and Confirmation will be offered during the second year. At the conclusion of the 2nd year the youth in this program and the mentors plan and participate in a pilgrimage. This year the youth are going to New York City. Young Adults in Church (YAC) Grades 11 and 12 This is a mentor-based program that helps older teens (11th and 12th graders) discern and carry out a ministry within their church or in the larger community. The first year is devoted to Bible Study---this year's group is exploring the book of Exodus. Vocation and development of a personal credo are also emphasized in the second year.
